Why we run it

tech.africa has covered African technology and internet infrastructure since 2004. Running a mirror is a small, practical contribution to the thing we write about: fetching a distribution from within the continent is faster and cheaper than pulling it across an ocean, and every byte served locally is a byte that does not need international transit.
